Erdington Enterprise Project

Enta CIC has announced the start of the Erdington Enterprise Facilitation Project. This project, through funding from the Erdington Constituency’s Working Neighbourhoods Development Fund, will support and enable individuals from the four Wards of the Erdington Constituency (Erdington, Kingstanding, Stockland Green and Tyburn) to start their own business or develop fledgling businesses to become more sustainable.

 

The ethos for this project comes from the Sirolli Model for ‘bottom-up’ economic development through local enterprises. The philosophy of Sirolli starting with small local business creation is built around a facilitator and a network of volunteers who act as a resource for both the facilitator and those starting businesses. Also, through the Working Neighbourhoods Development Fund the Sirolli Institute will provide the training for the Facilitator and Board of Volunteers so that all involved in this project are clear on the method, values and attitudes that have made Sirolli projects successful in other areas of the country and indeed the world over.

 

Jason Fry - Enterprise FacilitatorWe are pleased to announce that Jason Fry was appointed in July 2010 the Facilitator for the Erdington Constituency. Jason is thrilled to have been successful in being the candidate appointed to this role as he feels it is such an exciting project which recognises and helps nurture the talents of local people. Although the Sirolli Method is new to Enta and the Erdington area he sees a real affinity with the values of Enta and many of their partners and other workers in the Erdington Constituency who have a real belief in the possibilities and talents of the local residents and communities.

 

Enta has also begun the process of identifying and inviting volunteers to join the board so that a resource base is in place for both Jason and those he will be supporting in their business venture.

 

We feel privileged that the week of 26th July 2010 Ernesto Sirolli, the founder of the institute and creator of the Sirolli method, will be visiting Birmingham to work with and train Jason as well those volunteers who have already agreed to be part of this new and exciting initiative.
