The Kingstanding Employment Strategy Group organises a variety of events to bring training and employment opportunities to local people in and around Kingstanding.

The KESG aims to bring information about jobs and training into the heart of the community. Events are organised at local venues such as the Kingstanding Ex Serviceman’s Club in Warren Farm Road where a jobs and training fair took place in March 08.

The event brought together fourteen organisations and agencies who were on hand to offer advice and guidance, give information about courses and training opportunities as well as arrange interviews for current job vacancies.

A steady stream of local residents aged from 16 to 50 came along and met with jobs and training advisors, enjoyed light refreshments and took part in a prize draw when they returned their registration forms.

The event was in particular aimed at anyone who was unemployed, returning to work after an illness or caring for someone, registered disabled and looking for paid work or left school and wondering what to do.

KESG is committed to building long term relationships with the local community and to working alongside other partner agencies in the North of Birmingham.
